Sirkka Vandergraaf,
MA C Psych, Reg. Psychotherapist, Reg. Clinical Counsellor
For over 30 years, in various capacities, I have worked in the social services profession both locally and globally. I have enjoyed working in school systems, group homes, specialized therapeutic research, and volunteering with nonprofit organizations serving the vulnerable sector. I have been frequently humbled and inspired by the courage and resilience I have witnessed in people in my many years of walking alongside others. I use psychological studies and all my gained knowledge and experience to compassionately assist those seeking counselling for marriage and all relationships, as well as individual counselling for anxiety, grief, PTSD, burnout and life transition.
My clients communicate they appreciate the genuinely empathetic way in which I help provide insight and knowledge to confusing and painful issues they are struggling with. They find the tools provided help with managing and functioning better on a day to day basis, and being able to make connections between thoughts and emotions brings clarity and a reduction of physiological and emotional upset. I approach each session with kindness, focus, tenacity, and use only the latest scientific evidence based therapeutic processes.
I have my Masters in Counselling Psychology and maintain national licenses with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am also a member of the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta.
